Primary health care for 50,000 people
The road from Nairobi to Nakuru. One of the largest cities in Kenya.
At a place where no one suspects any civilization live around 50,000 people on a ridge in Kasambara-Gilgil. They have virtually nothing - only their lives, families and shelter. They live off of what the land provides. As long as they are dependent on governments hospitals, where treatment comes with a fee, a medical procedure is an unattainable luxury for these people.
The hospital of hope - the Rhein Valley Hospital - has existed since 2004. The group is headquartered in St. Gallen Rhein Valley and knows that this hope must never be let down again. This requires persistence, perseverance, presence, and educational work with the population. That is expressed by providing screenings, treatment and vaccination of children.

The operating budget of the Rhein-Valley Hospital is around 250,000 francs a year. Providing 40,000 to 50,000 treatments.
Also, vaccination days are provided regularly - especially for children. The delivery of safe drinking water also contributes to a healthier population. That way many diseases such as Cholera and typhoid can be avoided.

- Versatile support
