Sunday, 8 March, is International Women’s Day. On this occasion, special attention is given to women who have made significant contributions to society. At Maji Moto, we also encounter strong women every day.
Take our clinic manager Violett Maghangh, for example. She has dedicated herself and her energy to our project. She is committed to helping people – children, men and women – in the region. She uses her talent, knowledge and empathy to treat sick people, provide preventive care and give them hope for the future.
This young mother also showed strength this week. She gave birth to a baby boy on Monday. ‘Our new bundle this morning,’ writes Violet Maghanga in the caption accompanying the photo she sent us.
We congratulate the mother on her son and wish her and her family all the best. We want to do our part to ensure that she and her son always find the support they need to live a self-determined life.
