Children enjoy running and team sports promote social behavior in the community. So it was only natural to build a football pitch at the Maji Moto school. After initial difficulties, it was completed and, of course, tested.

Construction of the football pitch began at a time when Shimba Hills was receiving more than its fair share of rain. When the water had drained away again after the flooding, the ground still remained muddy and slippery. The machines got stuck on the way from the valley to the school.

In the end, it was still possible to free the heavy equipment and drive it to the construction site. It leveled the open space and soon the ball was kicked back and forth for the first time.
