The eye disease Fatama Bakari Ushanga was considered untreatable. Fortunately, this proved to be a mistake. The fact that the 35-year-old mother can now look at her children failed only because of money.

A few months ago, Fatama Bakari Ushanga underwent surgery at the Lions Eye Clinic in Mombasa. The treatment cost 1,000 francs and was made possible because the partner associations Rhine Valley Hospital and Shilling for Shilling paid for the operation.

In May, Eddie Kroll (President Shilling for Shilling) and Co-Project Manager Kerstin Amudala visited the happy family. Fatama Bakari Ushanga is learning to find her way in the unfamiliar colorful and turbulent world. The happiness is all too apparent in the two daughters.
