One of the patients came to the ward with a conspicuous change. This is a fungal infection of the skin on the elbow. It is easily treatable.
The patient has been suffering from the fungal infection for a year. It is called ringworm or (tinea corporis). It causes pink, sometimes itchy patches on the skin and has now become chronic.
Hospital director Violet Maghanga has given him an antifungal agent. He now applies it regularly and is soon feeling better.
