For many years, Nicolas Senn has made his hammered dulcimer sound whenever the Rhine-Valley Hospital Association invites people. At the charity event on September 20, he will perform with Lisa Stoll.<\/p>\n

Altst\u00e4tten\/Marbach. Nicolas Senn stands for virtuoso and versatile dulcimer playing. Lisa Stoll captivates her audience with the sounds of her alphorn. The two folk music performers open the benefit event for the Rhine Valley Hospital. They each give a solo and perform a duet.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

Nicolas Senn: virtuoso on the dulcimer<\/h2>\n

At the age of four, Nicolas Senn saw a concert of the Appenzeller Streichmusik Alderbuebe and was immediately fascinated by the dulcimer with its 125 strings. In the meantime, the dulcimer virtuoso has played in Russia, India, China, Thailand, America, Kuwait or – for the Rhine Valley Hospital – on the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro (5,895 meters above sea level). After several CD productions as well as TV appearances, he was awarded prizes such as the “Prix Walo” or the “Stadl Star” and won the “Grand Prix of Folk Music” in Switzerland. The versatile man from eastern Switzerland is always getting involved in cross-border projects: he spent three years on tour with the rapper Bligg, played live in front of 120,000 spectators with the Swiss Army Band at the Basel Tattoo or explained the dulcimer game to Stefan Raab on “TV total”. In his solo concerts, Nicolas Senn presents a virtuoso musical journey around the world, proving that everything from Appenzeller music to classical, jazz and rock is possible on the dulcimer. Since 2012, he has hosted the award-winning program “Potzmusig” as well as the big live gala “Viva Volksmusik” on SRF 1.<\/p>\n

Lisa Stoll: Fascinating alphorn sound<\/h2>\n

Lisa Stoll began her musical career at the age of 6 (1996) by playing the recorder. Two years later she picked up the cornet for the first time. It began a great passion for brass music. After two years she was already playing in a music school band and at the age of eleven she won 1st place in her category at the East Swiss Soloist Competition. Various engagements followed in the B\u00fcrgermusik Trasadingen, the Trombone Choir Hallau and the Stadtharmonie Schaffhausen. At the age of 10 Lisa discovered the alphorn. The sound fascinated her so much that she was able to play at a high level within a very short time. In 2008 she won the jury prize at the 15th Swiss Folklore Young Artists Competition with her own composition “S’Vreni vom Dorf” and in 2009 she celebrated great success with the classical program “Des M\u00e4dchens Wunderhorn” under the direction of Paul W. Taylor (alphorn and string orchestra). In September 2009 she took part in the Musikantenstadl’s young talent competition with Carlo Brunner’s composition “Tanz der K\u00fche” (Dance of the Cows) and won 1st place, thus participating in the finale in the Silvesterstadl. Here she also won and took home the young talent award “Stadlstern 2009”. With Carlo Brunner and Alex Eugster Lisa Stoll produced her first own CD’s. In January 2010 “Alphornliebe” was published and in July 2011 “Alphornflirt”.<\/p>\n

Film premiere and charity event<\/h2>\n

The benefit event on Saturday, September 20, in the multi-purpose hall Amtacker in Marbach, consists of two parts. They can be attended both or individually: Film premiere and benefit concert. To kick things off, at 6 p.m. (aperitif, 5 p.m.), Swissfilm GmbH will present the premiere of the documentary film “The Promise – the long breath of Stephan Holderegger”. Producer and board member Benjamin Pipa as well as director Lawrence Carls interviewed Stephan Holderegger’s companions and accompanied the<\/p>\n

main character to key places in his life. In fifty minutes, the film team paints a multi-layered picture of the hospital initiator. At 8 p.m. (admission 7:30 p.m.) the charity event begins. Victor Rohner will lead through the evening.<\/p>\n
