It was a wonderful moment for the team when more than 200 patients visited our Medical Centre on Wednesday. For one day, the focus was on people with eye problems and cancer screening.
On Wednesday, our clinic team, led by Violet Maghangha, organised a medical camp. The local population was invited to come to the Rhein Valley Medical Centre for eye examinations and consultations. Serious eye problems were identified in 18 patients. They were referred to a specialist eye centre for further treatment. Others were provided with suitable glasses on the spot, which a delegation from the board had brought back from their trip a few weeks earlier.
In addition, important cancer screening tests were carried out. “More than 200 people made use of our services,” writes the clinic director. There were so many that not everyone could be seen. Without further ado, the team extended the camp by a day. “The response was overwhelming, and the community was very grateful to our medical centre for this initiative.”
The high level of support shows that there is a great need for basic medical care in the Maji Moto region. And the local people have confidence in our clinic team and the facility.
