As our Medical Centre expands, so does our team. Local specialists contribute their knowledge and understanding of the population – for optimal medical care. Get to know our new employees.
A few weeks ago, we were able to put the extension to our Medical Center into operation. This was possible because, on the one hand, we can count on the valuable support of donors. But it is just as important to be able to count on local specialists. They know the needs of the population and are familiar with their mentality and customs.
That is why we attach great importance to recruiting our employees in the country. They contribute their expertise to our project and have a qualified job in their home country of Kenya.
Violet Maghangha has been our full-time hospital manager since December 2023. She has organised the operation of the day clinic in a very short space of time. She is passionate about her work and full of empathy for the population. She and her team have treated numerous patients over the past year while planning and realising the extension.
Since mid-January, we now have our own laboratory, therapy rooms and a labour ward. However, these rooms are only of use to us if qualified staff work there. We would like to introduce you to our new employees.
Laboratory technician, student and medical assistant
This is Onesmus Ochieng Oduori. He is a laboratory technician and is very familiar with the equipment and how to use it. Violet Maghangha describes him with the words: ‘He is passionate and friendly and is happy to join our Rhine Valley community.’
We also have a student in the team. Sam Bennylinn is studying at the University of Nairobi. He is spending the semester break in Matuga and is doing an internship at our Medical Centre. Violet Maghangha: ‘He is also very happy to be part of our team.’
And then there is Jemima Mwalumba. She is a nursing assistant and makes sure that the medical equipment is cleaned and sterile for her next assignment. Violet Maghangha: ‘She will also be a perfect help with the delivery of babies.’
We thank you for your valuable support and guarantee that every franc or euro donated will go to the project. There they will bring the greatest possible benefit to the school children and their families.
The Executive Board continues to work on a voluntary basis. This was the case when the organisation was founded in 1999 and still applies in its anniversary year 2025.
