We have been working with our Rhine Valley Hospital association in Maji Moto in Kenya for around three years. I have been president of this association for around 24 years and still take great pleasure in my work. I visit the site three to four times a year, check everything personally and maintain good contact with both the people involved in the project and the local population.
Every action contributes to progress
It makes me very happy and also a little proud that we have achieved so much in such a short time.

President Erich Kühnis.
The Austrian association “Schilling für Shilling” has been active in this area since 2016. He first built wells and moved into the first school buildings in January 2018. Today, around 700 pupils attend the “Shilling for Shilling” school – a considerable number. The costs have naturally risen significantly as a result. So we decided to cooperate with the Austrian association and make a significant contribution to the school costs.
Promoting education and health
The aim of our association is to promote education and health. So we decided to plan a day clinic near the school and wanted to ensure reliable basic medical care. At that time, they did not yet exist in the Maji Moto area. As a result, some children and adults died due to a lack of medical treatment and medication.
A lot has already changed with the new Rhine Valley Day Clinic. A simple infectious disease no longer necessarily means death. What really impressed me was that the new clinic building was completed in just a few months. Thanks to the cooperation with the local project managers, Kerstin Geyer and Giggs Mwaura, everything went very smoothly. The employees in Kenya are also irreplaceable. At our Rhine Valley Healtcenter, we have motivated and highly trained specialists under the management of Violet Maghanga.
We continue to expand
Nun stehen weitere Investitionen an. Our Healthcenter urgently needs a laboratory, a birthing room and a larger room for therapies for severely disabled children. Alle PläneAV und Unterlagen sind detailliert vorhanden. The estimated costs for the entire infrastructure, including various test devices, amount to around CHF 60,000.
This is a very large sum and we therefore ask for your valued and valuable support. I am also available for a personal consultation (phone +41 79 407 55 74). I can give you very precise information about everything, as I am regularly on site.
But we won’t wait until the new rooms are finished before we start the therapies. Our team improvises in order to be able to help the little patients.
Many thanks for your generous support. Every franc or euro goes to the right place and brings joy and hope.
Sincerely
Erich Kühnis
President
