Just over a year has passed since the board of the Rhein-Valley Hospital Association was able to travel to Kenya and open the infirmary in Shimba Hills. President Erich KĂĽhnis and his team report on how the project has developed.

The board was always successful in recruiting new volunteers. The newest members are also the youngest: They are Michi Vogt and Gereon von der Linden.
Currently, a large water reservoir is being built on the grounds of the Maji Moto school in Shimba Hills. It is designed to ensure that clean water is available to children year-round. It is used as food, for washing and for irrigation.
The eye disease Fatama Bakari Ushanga was considered untreatable. Fortunately, this proved to be a mistake. The fact that the 35-year-old mother can now look at her children failed only because of money.
During their working visit to the project in Kenya in mid-May, President Erich KĂĽhnis (Rhein-Valley Hospital) and President Eddie Kroll (Shilling for Shilling) also visited the children and young people. They are at the center of the project. Consequently, all decisions are based on their needs.
The partnership between the Rhine Valley Hospital Association and the Shilling for Shilling Association is shaping up very well. To ensure that the project continues to develop as successfully as it has to date, the two presidents meet regularly on site.
